Mr. Clark:
I am responding to your recent query. At its June, 1998 meeting, the Tennessee Board of Regents approved changes to the System Admission Policy.
The primary change was to remove the special provisions for students graduating from high schools not approved by the State and for home schoolers. Applicants for admission who fall into these categories will no longer have to submit a GED. Applicants to universities will be admitted based on H.S. GPA and/or ACT score; applicants to two-year institutions will be admitted based on graduation. All students will have to submit a formal transcript and an ACT score (used at two-year institutions for placement purposes only).
